Trellis Overshot Accent Pillow in Pastel Green, Ivory, Natural & Flax 14" x 14"
This accent pillow is hand woven both front and back and features an invisible zipper with an included pillow insert. The front of the pillow is woven in an overshot design named Trellis. Overshot is a weaving structure that was very popular in colonial America and was often used to create a type of bed covering called coverlets.
The Trellis overshot design was created by the early 20th century hand weaver Bertha Gray Hayes (1878-1947) from Rhode Island. This design is part of a collection of 72 of Ms. Hayes' miniature overshot designs created around the years of World War II. Many of her distinctive designs are named after the history and times of her era including "Bomber Flight", "Victory" and "Peace-1945".
The rear of the pillow is woven in a twill with contrasting neutral tones to create a beautiful understated diagonal, characteristic of twill.
The included pillow insert from Utopia Bedding has just the right amount of firmness, is very soft and filled with polyester.
