The “Snowball” overshot design found on this tea towel was created by the early 20th century hand weaver Bertha Gray Hayes (1878-1947) from Rhode Island. This design is part of a collection of 72 of Ms. Hayes' miniature overshot designs created around the years of World War II. Many of her distinctive designs are named after the history and times of her era including "Bomber Flight", "Victory" and "Peace-1945".
